HEDDA GABLER
May 1 - May 10
Directed by Susan Bradford
Assistant Directed by Nathan Jackson The play, Hedda Gabler, set in 1890 Norway at George Tesman’s Middle Class Villa home in Christiana, Norway, the morning after he and his wife, Hedda, have arrived from their honeymoon, where he spent most of his time doing research. Hedda, an aristocrat, is bored on arrival, immediately disdaining her assigned role as homemaker, as it compares to her previous life. A play that proves timeless in Its study of repression, human nature, gender inequality, and artistic stagnation. Content Warning: Themes of suicide, sexual violence and multiple gunshots. Recommended for mature audiences only. Parental discretion advised. |
